Top Five Skincare Steps for Fall

Top Five Skincare Steps for Fall

As the seasons change, so does the weather and the way our skin reacts to the cooler temperatures changes as well. The air gets drier outside and inside, so our skin loses moisture and can cause sensitivity, dryness and irritation. It's time to change up your skincare routine for the cooler weather. A tip for those with super-sensitive skin is to hydrate and coat your skin with essential oils, serums and creams and nourish your skin with elastin and collagen to aid in the recovery process. For the rest of you, here are our top five skincare steps for fall.

Switch to a thicker moisturizer

Switch to a thicker moisturizer with hydrating ingredients, especially before bed, to help retain the moisture lost during the day. If you spent a little too much time in the sun this summer, consider a serum that targets hyperpigmentation (read: sun spots). Lexi Noel Beauty Antioxidant Cream is a daily moisturizer that prevents early signs of aging so you look amazing today and tomorrow. Our formula contains organic avocado and jojoba oils, plus rosehip, carrot, and organic neem oil too; it deeply replenishes and revives dry, dull skin, leaving it renewed and rejuvenated. For dry skin, apply every night. Combination skin should apply three times a week. Oily skin, apply twice a week. Our formula is vegan, gluten-, paraben- and phthalate-free.

Use a lip moisturizer and add eye creams

Just as you should switch to a thicker moisturizer, adding these products moisturizes your lips and the skin around your eyes. You may also want to try Lexi Noel Beauty Lip Scrub. It's a perfect addition to your lip care because it's a lip exfoliator that works to resurface and prepare lips before lip color application. Lexi Noel Beauty lip exfoliator scrub works to gently exfoliate and condition lips and helps to removes dry flakes and dead skin cells. Your lips will be left feeling smoothed, softened, and ready for your favorite lip color application.

Don't use exfoliants and retinoids as frequently

Decrease the use of exfoliants and retinoids because your skin isn't buffered from their irritating effects by the humidity and warm temperatures, but you can use a face or body scrub once a week or so to treat parched, flaky skin and stimulate natural oil production.

Continue using sunscreen

The hot sun may not be beating down on you all day anymore, but UV radiation is still present throughout all four seasons. Sunscreen should be used year-round as UV radiation accelerates and increases the risk of skin cancer. Try to stick to a daily SPF 30, at least.

Add Vitamin C

The start of fall should coincide with skin renewal and repair from the ravages of summer sun and heat. The best way to restore hydration is to start from the inside out. Taking an internal supplement like Vitamin C can help restore the skin on your entire body.

As your skincare needs shift with the changing seasons, remember to adjust your skincare routine accordingly. Lexi Noel Beauty can show you the way!
