It's a new year which means it's a good time to get organized -- in your life, in your relationships . . . in your bathroom. Are you spending more time looking for makeup essentials than you are applying them? Let's take a look at some ways to organize your bathroom counter and vanity so you can get out the door fast and feeling fine.

First, go through your products and get rid of the things you don't use. Remember, makeup and beauty products don't last forever and will lose their effectiveness and can even be harmful to you.

Next, sort your items into groups. Nail polish and accessories, dental items, makeup, hair products and accessories, etc.

Gather small items like hair bands and clips and put into small makeup bags and store in a drawer.
