Five Glitter Makeup Looks for the Holidays
The nights are getting cooler and the days are getting shorter. The stores are already putting out their holiday decor. So you should get a headstart and think about holiday office parties and your holiday makeup! Long fall and winter nights are very dark so holiday decor tends to focus around bright lights and sparkles. Use your holiday makeup to catch the light and add a sense of joy and frivolity. See a few of our favorite looks below.
Red and Pink for the Holidays
Apply a matte foundation and a soft rose highlighter. Prime your lids with a rosy pink lip color or cream shadow. Set your lid color with a pink blush. Apply a red liquid matte lip color. Pack on Lexi Noel Beauty Glitter in Hot Red Lips to complete your pout.
All of your regular eyeliner tricks work here, you just add another layer of glitter eyeliner, along with a tiny smudge in the corner of our eyes. After applying your usual black eyeliner, use a very fine eyeliner brush, dip into a balm, and then glitter, and line the eyes on top of black eyeliner. Apply mascara or lashes if needed.
After you've applied your foundation and blush, use a pointed makeup brush dipped in a clear, water-based liquid, and apply it directly underneath your brow, following your natural shape. This base gives the glitter something to adhere to. With the same pointed brush, dip the tip of it into glitter and apply it over the clear liquid you painted on in step one.
A smokey eye looks great with this look. Dip a synthetic angle brush into something emollient (like balm) and dip into glitter. Gently press and apply underneath your regular eyeliner, then dust gently away the excess. Apply mascara after on top and bottom lashes.
Scatter a glitter pigment across your eyes, extending it well beyond the outer corners. Keep the rest of your look minimal to really make the sparkle stand out.
Glitter makeup is a great way to add a little festive sparkle to the darkest months of the year, so if you have always shied away from these products before, this year might be the perfect time to give them a try. Enjoy!
