Beauty Tips for Men

Beauty Tips for Men

Good skincare should be a goal for men and women. It's one of the most powerful tools we have against some of the common issues men face on their faces like acne, wrinkles, even sun damage. It takes more than just washing your face with whatever soap you pick up at the grocery store. It takes commitment and consistency. Sir James is here to offer some basic tips for your everyday beauty routine.

A Simple Shaving Routine

Wet your skin and hair to soften it. A great time to shave is right after a shower, as your skin will be warm and moist and free of excess oil and dead skin cells that can clog up your razor blade.

Apply shaving cream. If you have very dry or sensitive skin, look for a shaving cream that says “sensitive skin” on the label. Using a circular motion, apply a small amount of the cream to your face using your fingers or a shave brush. A shave brush can help by lifting the hairs and more evenly coating them with the shaving cream. Sir James Shave Cream is made from a unique blend of botanical ingredients and pure essential oils for a rich, protective lather. Use the shave cream with the Sir James Shaving Brush which is made from boar's hair and is ideal for generating a rich, creamy lather.

Let the cream sit for two to three minutes. Particularly if you have thicker facial hair, this helps the shaving cream penetrate the hairs and soften them. While you wait, you can brush your teeth or comb your hair.

Shave in the direction that your hair grows. This is an important step to help prevent razor bumps and burns.

Rinse after each swipe of the razor. In addition, make sure you change your blade or throw away disposable razors after five to seven shaves to minimize irritation.

After shaving, rinse your face with cold water to reduce inflammation. Then apply a moisturizer with an SPF of 30 or higher. The moisturizer will help close your pores and trap water in your skin, while the sunscreen will help protect your skin from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. For you bearded men, follow up with Sir James Beard Oil for control and a healthy shine. It will make your beard soft and eliminate itching.

Store your razor in a dry area. In between shaves, make sure your razor dries completely to prevent bacteria from growing on it. Do not leave your razor in the shower or on a wet sink.

Now, let's deal with the hair and body...

You could buy any soap on the shelf, but you'd be missing out on all the great benefits that a proper body wash that was designed for a man’s skin has to offer. Men have much thicker and coarser skin than women, but you're buying products that aren't taking that into account. Body washes make the process much quicker and tend to deliver really effective results. Sir James All in One Body Wash washes away the grime from a day of hard work. It's powerful enough to achieve your goal, but still gentle enough to use every day.

For hair care, Sir James Men's Shampoo is enhanced with pure essential oils that normalize oil production, enhance circulation and support the health of hair and scalp. It's good for normal, dry and oily hair types.

With the recent explosion of men’s grooming products on the market, there's no reason men can't look their best, too!
